Following the outcome of the Ofsted inspection earlier this year, the Governing Body of Pathways School and the Local Authority have been informed by the Department for Education that the school will become an academy and be sponsored by Horizons Specialist Academies Trust (HSAT).

The Local Authority and Governing Body view this proposal as an extremely positive development for the school and are excited about the opportunities and stability this will bring for our students, staff and community. HSAT is a local, highly respected multi academy trust of special schools, with a very successful track record and able to offer us a range of support and expertise.

Pathways School will benefit from this support, and we will be working together in partnership with the Local Authority, over the coming weeks and months to plan for a seamless transition to academy status.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children/young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff to share this commitment and an enhanced DBS disclosure will be sought along with other relevant employment checks.

The closing date for the Outreach Tutor applications will be Wednesday 23rd January 2019 and interviews will be held on Thursday 31st January 2019.

The closing date for the Teaching Assistant applications will be Friday 25th January 2019 and interviews will be held on Tuesday 5th February 2019.

Successful candidates will be informed of their interview in writing and will be shown around the school on the day of the interview. Further enquires can be made to Rachel Glover (Headteacher).

Applications must be completed on the Redcar and Cleveland application form (copy below) and emailed directly to the school on [email protected]
